Revelation 20:7-15
The Final Evil and the Final Judgment

Introduction The Revelation is the Apocalypse, the sudden unveiling of Jesus in His full glory, as the rightful Heir and King of the Universe.

Ch 20:7-15 The final evil and the final judgment. Evil, the Judgment of Evil, Deliver us from Evil

Revelation 20

7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

I. Evil

1. The allowance of evil - God has allowed free will for the whole history of mankind, given us choices for good or evil, even to finally remove the Holy Spirit so evil can take over the world for 7 years, and now even one last time at the very end.

2. The exposure of evil - it’s not all the devil’s fault. We agree and partner with him.

3. The culmination of evil - inclined to evil, and that continually, to the bitter end. Even after 1000 years of Jesus, peace and prosperity on Earth, the human race still is deceived, again betrays Him, turns on Him, tries to eliminate Him.

Humans are inclined to do evil, and that continually, even to the very end, and the devil is there to deceive us and encourage us.

II. Judgment of Evil

Revelation 20

Revelation 20

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

Revelation 22:19

19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

We are delivered from evil and the judgment of evil by the Lamb's Book of Life. What is it?

A. The Roll of God’s True People

B. If we are faithful, do not take anything away from the Revelation, our names will not be blotted out

C. Unbelievers names are not in the Book of Life, those who follow the Anti-Christ

D. Names are written by God's grace, not our works

1. The Lamb’s Book of Life - the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the World

Revelation 12

10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony

2. If not, judged by your works

E. It is the grace of God, the blood of the Lamb, the Atonement, our faith in Him, our names written on the Roll of God, which keeps us from evil, the Great White Throne Judgment and the Lake of Fire.
